Taking emergency measurements

In urgent situations where recording health data immediately is a priority, you can take emergency measurements first without signing in and submit the recordings later.

I. Recording Emergency Measurements

  1. Tap the red Measure button at the bottom on the sign-in screen. Note that the first time using the app, you will need to sign in with your account and credential to enable the emergency measurement function. After this, you can take emergency measurements without signing in.

  2. Enter the Resident Name and Record by as a temporary reference, and you can revise them later when officially submitting the record.

  3. Record vital signs, mood charting, progress note or other relevant assessments.
  4. Tap Save to store the data for later review and submission.

Note: Once the emergency situation is addressed, sign in to the app at EM Log to complete the data submission.

 

II. Reviewing and Submitting Emergency Measurements

  1. Sign in to the app with your account and credential.
  2. Tap EM Log in the menu, select the emergency measurement record and tap Submit button under the column Add to Record.

  3. In the submission dialog, update the Resident Name by selecting from the existing resident list. The Record by will be automatically updated to your user account.

  4. Adjust the Execution Time if the recorded time differs from when the task was performed. 
  5. Assign protocols and review additional details, such as progress notes. Then, tap Submit button to complete the data recording.
  6. Tap Record in the menu to view the submitted emergency measurement. It will be categorized as Emergency under the column Type.

Note: Emergency measurement can be taken and submitted from the VitalLink App and the recording/submission status can be tracked in the Emergency Log from VitalLink Web Portal. Learn how to review the status from the web portal here.
